As part of the final project activities for 2020, AGEA is organising an international conference. Due to the restrictions of the current global pandemic, the conference activities will be organised in a series of online and in-person events in Germany, Ghana and Rwanda through October 2020.

Online Public-Day Event: The conference activities will be kick-started with a virtual public-day event on 13 October 2020. This event is meant to bring together experts, HEIs, students and business partners within the AGEA network in Germany and Africa to share experiences on the project.

AGEA Idea Competition 2020 Finale: A main highlight of the online public-day event will be the finale of the AGEA Idea Competition 2020. The competition seeks to unearth potential entrepreneurial ideas which solve societal and economic challenges in the African context. It provides an opportunity for AGEA alumni and tertiary students in Ghana and Rwanda to develop innovative entrepreneurial solutions to current challenges in Africa. The competition has been organised in four (4) main stages:
(1) Team and idea registration/application;
(2) Jury evaluation and selection of Top 10 ideas (5 each from Ghana and Rwanda) based on relevance, innovativeness, feasibility, market sustainability, and impact of ideas;
(3) Development of promotional videos for ideas;
(4) Public voting for ideas during the online public-day event to select the Top 3 ideas.

Top 3 ideas will be rewarded and further supported by the projects to further develop their entrepreneurial ideas.
